Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about typing tests, practice, rankings, certificates, and your TypeClimb account.

TypeClimb is a typing improvement platform where you can practice touch typing, take typing speed tests, track your performance, earn certificates, and improve your typing speed and accuracy.

Choose your preferred difficulty and typing mode, complete the timed test, and TypeClimb calculates your WPM, CPM, accuracy, and errors. Your result can then be saved to your account.

WPM means Words Per Minute. It is a standard measurement of typing speed and represents approximately how many words you can type in one minute.

Speed is only useful when you can maintain accuracy. TypeClimb tracks both speed and accuracy so you can build faster typing habits without developing unnecessary mistakes.

Yes. TypeClimb provides typing practice and structured lessons so you can work on your typing skills without every session being treated as a formal speed test.

Yes. Custom typing mode allows you to provide your own text and practice with content that is relevant to you.

Eligible typing test performances can earn certificates based on TypeClimb achievement and ranking criteria. Certificate eligibility is checked on the server when the certificate is generated.

Every generated certificate has a unique Certificate ID. You can use the Verify Certificate form in the footer or visit the certificate verification page to check its authenticity.

TypeClimb can rank typing performances across different leaderboards. Your ranking depends on your recorded performance and the ranking period or category being viewed.

Some TypeClimb features can be explored without an account, while saving results, tracking progress, earning achievements, and accessing account-based features require an account.

You can use the Feedback page to send suggestions, report problems, share your experience, or submit a review. Reviews are only displayed publicly after they have been approved.

You can contact the TypeClimb team through the Contact Us page for support, suggestions, questions, or other inquiries.

Some TypeClimb features can be explored without signing in, but an account is required to save scores, track progress, access your dashboard, participate in rankings, and manage certificates.

Choose your test settings, start typing the displayed text, and TypeClimb calculates your typing speed, characters per minute, accuracy, and errors when the test is completed.

WPM means Words Per Minute and is commonly used to measure typing speed. CPM means Characters Per Minute and measures how many characters you type per minute.

Typing practice is designed for improving your typing skills through repeated exercises and structured learning instead of simply measuring your current speed.

Focus on accuracy first, practise regularly, learn proper finger placement, and gradually increase your speed. Consistent practice is generally more useful than repeatedly trying to type as fast as possible.

When you are signed in and save your score, your result can be stored in your TypeClimb account so you can review your performance and track your progress.

TypeClimb uses your recorded typing performance to determine ranking positions. Rankings can include different scopes such as global, country, and regional rankings depending on the leaderboard.

Eligible typing test results can qualify for a certificate. When you achieve the required performance criteria, TypeClimb can offer you the option to generate your certificate.

Each TypeClimb certificate has a unique certificate ID. The certificate can be verified through the public TypeClimb certificate verification page.
